Personal Background
I graduated with a Master’s degree from Chengdu University of Technology, Sichuan in 2020, majoring in foreign linguistics and applied linguistics. After graduating in 2020, I accepted a teaching position at Sichuan Technology and Business University, Chengdu, China where I found my passion for English language teaching and learning. To be more proficient in this field, I decided to further my study in Teaching English as an International Language at NIDA. One year of course learning has broadened my view of foreign language learning and teaching. My current research interests include learning strategies, teacher and learner training, and second language acquisition from cognitive perspectives. In my leisure time, I enjoy running, traveling and aerobic exercise.

I am a lecturer in English major at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Maejo University, Chiang Mai. I graduated with my Bachelor’s and first Master’s Degrees in English, from the Faculty of Humanities, Chiang Mai University. To extend my knowledge and practice in media discourse studies as my field of interest, I completed my second Master’s Degree in Communication from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University, Australia. By pursuing these double master’s degrees, my interest in media discourse and my decision to continue my education in this field is the outcome of my profound interest in the Ph.D. program in Language and Communication at NIDA. This doctoral program is a great fit for my future career. It covers most of the areas that I am interested in studying which I will use once I continue my advanced academic work after graduating. My research interests include gender and media discourse studies. I also enjoy watching films, swimming, and photography.

I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature and Master’s degree in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at Beijing Normal University in China. Since my graduation in 2007, I have been working as a college teacher in Zhejiang Province, China. To further my academic development, I am now pursuing a Doctoral degree in Language and Communication at NIDA. I have completed all the coursework and am currently preparing for my thesis proposal. My research interests include social issues in communication and foreign language learning.

I have been an English teacher in China since 2006 when I finished my Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature at ZheJiang A&F University. Four years later, I decided to study for Master’s Degree in Teaching at ZheJiang Normal University and got the degree in 2013. Then I gradually realized the great significance of learning more professional knowledge and theories of Language for doing research. And considering the experience of studying overseas is attractive and also necessary for me, I decided to work for PhD degree in Language and Communication at NIDA. I have completed all the coursework and am currently writing my dissertation. I love teaching, and have great interest in history as well.

Personal Background
I completed my Bachelor’s Degree from Huazhong Agriculture University in Wuhan, China, in 2003 and got my Master’s Degree in curriculum and pedagogy from Zhejiang Normal University in Zhejiang, China, in 2010. After decades of teaching college English , I felt that I could hardly dig in-depth root of students’ performance in English learning. It is GSLC’s Ph.D. program that enlightens me. After one year’s course study and QE exams, I have mastered core knowledge in doing research in language and communication. Right now, I am preparing for my dissertation on English teaching with mixed methods.

I graduated with a Master’s Degree in English literature from Guangxi University in 2011. After graduation, I have been working at Guangxi University of Finance and Economics for over 9 years. I received a teaching position at the faculty of Journalism and Cultural Communication in 2019. I realized that it’s time to update my academic knowledge and applied for the Ph.D. program of Language and Communication at NIDA. One-year studying at Nida was a real exciting experience for me. My current research interests include discourse studies, multimodality, and media studies. I also enjoy listening to music and travelling. I received my Bachelor degree in English and Master degree in Education from Zhejiang Normal University in China. I took up my teaching post in Lishui University in 2002 and went to Zhejiang University as a visiting scholar in 2015. A year of study in Zhejiang University opened a door to discourse research for me, which inspires me to pursue a doctoral degree in language and communication in NIDA. The coursework of NIDA broadened my horizon academically and socially, which paved a way for my current stage of dissertation writing. My research interest is in critical discourse analysis. It guides me to have a deep thinking of social problems.

After obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in English Education in Lishui University in China in 2006, I was employed at Lishui University in the following years as an English teacher. I continued my Master’s study in education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction in Zhejiang Normal University in 2009, where I’ve learned systematically the related teaching theory. Under the motivation of acquiring more profound knowledge of the field and cultivating the academic ability to conduct in-depth research, I decided to pursue Doctoral degree in Language and Communication at NIDA. I have completed all program courses and am currently writing my dissertation. My research interests covers SFL, media and culture, discourse analysis.

After acquiring my Bachelor’s degree in English at Zhejiang University in China in 2005, I gained a teaching position in Lishui University, Zhejiang province. As a lecturer, I found it’s crucial to promote my professional knowledge and then began my MA study on English language and literature at Zhejiang University in 2010, where I developed my research passion on cross-cultural communication. Therefore, I decided to continue my research and pursue a Doctoral degree in language and communication at NIDA. Now, I’ve completed all the coursework and writing my dissertation. My research interests include language and culture, language and identity.

In 2013, I completed my study for the bachelor’s degree of art (BA), majoring in English translation and found my great learning motivation for studying interpreting and translation and researching the use of language in intercultural communication. Ranking top 3 in my department, I was graduated as an English major in 2013. Without any interval then, I continued my study for the master’s degree of translation and interpreting in Sichuan International Studies Institute (SISU), Chongqing, China, majoring in English interpreting with my special focus on simultaneous interpreting, in the same year. During my graduated study, I polished my research interests in the field of interpreting and translation and the area of communication. Later, I completed my master degree in 2015, by ranking top one in my college of translation and interpreting and became an registered qualified Chinese-to-English interpreter. Meanwhile, in the same year, I got an offer from Chengdu University, Chengdu, China to be an university lecturer to teach courses like College English for non-English majors, Public Speaking for sophomore English majors and Consecutive Interpreting for junior English majors. And still, I am responsible for supervising thesis writing of senior English majors. During my teaching and academic research in Chengdu University, my research interests have been gradually shaped and fixed in the field of translation and interpreting and the field of discourse studies. Now I am about to complete my abundant and productive coursework given by the PhD program of Language and Communication in GLSC, NIDA, Thailand. All teachers of the program help me with their profession and sincerity to streamline key knowledge of studying the language in use, broaden my view of academic researches in sociolinguistics, intensify my own research interest in discourse studies, and shape my research methodologies to be applied in my own research projects. At present, my research interests lie in discourse and critical discourse studies in media; discourse and critical discourse studies in translation and interpreting.

I got my both bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in China, majoring in English language teaching. After my graduation, I worked as a lecturer at a local university in Zhejiang, China, for more than fifteen years. I did some researches on language learning strategies and language learning motivations in college English classrooms. I enjoy teaching which brings me joy and pride and I hope that I would be a researcher when I graduate from doctoral program in NIDA.

Personal Background
I got my bachelor degree in Central China Normal University where I started my dream and career as an English teacher. I luckily got my chance to be an English lecturer after my graduation in my present university -- Lishui University, a small but beautiful place in Zhejiang Province. I then won my master degree in Zhejiang Normal University. After teaching English for more than fifteen years, I really run out of my talents in teaching something new to my students. Right at this moment, I was admitted as a Ph.D candidate in Nida, which offered me a new platform to enrich my ideas and improve my language proficiency. Wisdom for change is really what I need. With the guidance and help of the kind and knowledgeable teachers in GSLC, I luckily finished all the courses and passed all the examinations successfully, which I ever thought was an impossible mission. My research interests cover: communication studies, translation studies and discourse analysis.

Personal Background
I discovered the passion I have for the English language and teaching at very early age when I tutored my younger brother, classmates, and friends. In the sophomore year, he took a part-time job as an English tutor to school children and later as Business English Instructor at an English language school for adult learners. After graduation, I taught full-time at the same school before pursuing a master’s degree in TESOL in the USA. During my time at the Graduate School of Education, the University of Pennsylvania, I had opportunities to hone my teaching apprenticeship in several fieldworks and volunteer positions related to teaching academic English, ESL, test preparation, and reading and writing (literacy program) to diverse learner groups, such as international ESL students, students enrolled in first-year composition classes, immigrants, and domestic adult learners in the literacy program and the GED program. Apart from that I was appointed an adjunct faculty member at Penn Language Center (PLC) at Penn Arts and Sciences, University of Pennsylvania, where I was teaching beginning Thai and intermediate Thai language courses to undergraduate and graduate students. After graduated from UPenn, along with my Thai classes, I also taught ESL to international students at the English Language Institute at Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. I decided to return to Thailand and joined Stamford International University as an EAP lecturer and started my role in administration a year later as an Associate Director of Bilingual Tracks. I am now currently a Program Head of the Bachelor of Arts Program in English. My research interests lie primarily in sociolinguistics particularly in critical discourse study on language, gender, and sexuality, and on interpersonal communication studies.

Personal Background
I received a Bachelor of Law from Thammasat University and Bachelor of Humanities in German (Honors) from Ramkhamhaeng University in Thailand and continued my MA in International relations from Webster University, USA. Besides these, I also received a certificate in Buddhist studies from California, and I also went to the Defense Language Institute, which is a military school in California, USA. Upon finishing the program in Korean, I received a position of a Korean linguist and signal analyst in the US Army and continued this career as a US Army soldier until I finished the contract. Other than that, I was a translator for the US Air Force and a Thai tutor for US military personnel, etc. Currently, I belong to the board of directors of the United Nations Peace Keepers Federal Council (UNPKFC), a Buddhist Lay Minister of America, a joint secretary of the World Alliance of Buddhists (WAB), an investor, and a business owner in the construction field. I am also a part-time content creator, a blogger, a freelance tutor, and a translator. I decided to pursue a doctoral degree in Language and Communication at NIDA because I really like the beauty of languages due to the history and culture behind them, and the capability to apply the linguistic skills in the daily life is very useful for me; therefore, I keep learning different languages on my own and my thirst for knowledge never stops. Also, I think it is my call of duty to contribute to the society and since education is the most powerful weapon which we can use to change the world, it is important for me to be a life-long learner. Now, I’ve completed all the coursework and am currently working on my dissertation. Since I am a huge world literature lover, an independent poet, and a big book worm, my research interests include discourse analysis and multi-modalities in the intercultural translation and transcreation because the art of intercultural communication through the transmission of languages always triggers my interest. Beyond my academic interests, I am a global trotter. I have traveled to around 60 countries in the world, and in some of those, such as Madagascar and Reunion, most people could not communicate in English because they have their own languages and practices. Visiting different countries with the capabilities to communicate with the locals really open my eyes, which is why I am infatuated with different languages and different culture.

Upon completing my bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature at the University of Science and Engineering in China in 2012, I continued my MA study in English Translatology at Hunan University. After graduating in 2015, I accepted a teaching position at Chengdu University, Sichuan Province, where I discovered my passion for English language teaching and learning. Thus, I decided to pursue a doctoral degree in Teaching English as an International Language (TEIL) at NIDA. I’ve completed all the coursework and am currently writing my dissertation. My research interests include translation for teaching and social issues in foreign language learning. Beyond my academic interests, I love traveling, painting and physical exercise.
